Hanna Kim is a Toronto-based violinist whose career bridges performance, education, and artistic leadership. With over twenty-five years of professional experience as both a performer and educator, she is recognized for her intuitive musicianship and deeply expressive playing.
She began her advanced musical training in Germany at the age of eighteen and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts, studying with Prof. Valery Gradow and Prof. Roman Nodel. She later completed her Doctoral degree (Konzertexamen) in violin performance at the Trossingen University of Music under Prof. Winfried Rademacher, graduating with unanimous distinction from the jury.
Hanna Kim has received numerous international awards, including top prizes at the Città di Barletta, Padova, and Luigi Zanuccoli International Music Competitions, among others. These achievements have led to performances across Europe, Asia, and North America, where she has appeared in solo recitals and as a featured soloist with orchestras in Germany, Russia, China, South Korea, and Canada.
Alongside her performing career, Hanna has held teaching appointments at Chung-Ang University and the Seoul National University of Education in South Korea, reflecting her longstanding commitment to music education. She is also the founding member and Artistic Director of SoundBridge Society, an Ontario-based organization dedicated to community-centered music initiatives that connect professional artistry with meaningful social engagement.
Her artistic work extends beyond the concert stage through recordings and media. She has released the solo album MERCY and collaborated on the album GRACE with the violin duo BEVIOLINCE. In addition, she shares her passion for music with a broader audience as the host of Hanna’s Music & More on Toronto Christian Broadcasting.
Currently based in the Greater Toronto Area, Hanna Kim serves as Concertmaster of the Ontario Philharmonic. Her work today reflects a holistic artistic vision—one that values excellence in performance, depth in education, and music’s capacity to inspire connection across communities.
